The Haunted Forest Marathon takes place in Canal Fulton, in Stark County, Ohio, running through both urban areas and forest with a full Halloween theme. Three distances are on offer: a 5K, a half marathon (13.1 miles), and a full marathon (26.2 miles).

After the race, the Canal Fulton Historic District is worth a visit, as is a family ride on the St. Helena III canal boat. The Ohio & Erie Canalway Trail, stretching more than 60 miles, offers hiking along the old canal, and downtown restaurants are known for a locally famous pizza.
