Race For Catherine

The Race for Catherine takes place in Newtown, Connecticut. This 5K charity run, now in its fifth year and organized by the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary, offers both an in-person race and a three-day virtual option.

The course, open to all abilities, runs through the Fairfield Hills campus in the town's historic center. The event honors Catherine Violet, a young girl who died in 2012 at age 6, whose love of animals inspired the creation of the sanctuary. The race highlights the connection between animals, people, and the environment. Funds raised, including a minimum contribution per participant, support the foundation's work, and kids can meet ambassador animals on race day.
