The Mt Difficulty Ascent & Rustic Run in Cromwell takes place on 12 June 2027, with a 44 km mountain trail race (3,274 m of elevation gain), a trail marathon, a 25 km (1,627 m of climbing) and a half marathon that can also be run as a team. The 44 km and 25 km start at 08:00, the marathon at 08:15 and the half marathon at 10:00.

The Mt Difficulty Ascent offers a rugged course for those after an adventure that blends running and hiking, with steep slopes, sections that require scrambling over rocky ground and the possibility of snow.
