About
Kowen Winter Trails takes place in Wamboin, New South Wales, on 20 June 2027, with a trail marathon (7am), a trail half marathon (8am) and a 12 km race (9am). The event supports the Wamboin Rural Fire Brigade.
The races are held on well-maintained, hilly forest trails through native bush, with views over Canberra and its surroundings. The courses involve significant elevation gain and include tough climbs such as Mount Amungula and Mount Doom. The event is an official qualifier for the Six Foot Track.
All races start and finish at the Wamboin Community Hall, with an opening section on sealed road before entering Kowen Forest. Mandatory safety gear is required for all participants, and gear checks take place before bib collection.
