About
The Carlyle Lake Triathlon, presented by MSE Racing in partnership with the city of Carlyle, Illinois, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, offers both sprint and Olympic-distance options. The sprint pairs a 0.5-mile swim with a 12.4-mile bike leg and a 3.1-mile run, while the Olympic distance steps up to a 0.9-mile swim, a 25-mile bike leg, and a 6.2-mile run. Both start with a beach swim on Carlyle Lake, one of Illinois' largest man-made lakes, before a flat, fast bike course across the plains and a run that finishes over rolling country roads with lake views. The race is designed to welcome everyone, from first-time triathletes to experienced racers.
