BigMud is the first event in the Classic Element Trail Series, a four-part challenge inspired by the classical elements of earth, water, fire and air. As the embodiment of earth, BigMud celebrates grit, terrain and nature at its rawest.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>The races are run on a single lap through the muddy, rolling landscape of the Meon Valley. The course opens with a 518-foot (158-metre) climb to the top of Butser Hill, the highest point on the South Downs, and runners tackle it not once but twice. From there, expect a mix of tough climbs, woodland trails and undulating country paths before finishing at the foot of Butser Hill.
